<description>In the era of rising geopolitical tensions, regulations like the Data Act, and skyrocketing licensing costs among major infrastructure players, open-source IaaS solutions are becoming the first choice not only for research institutions but also for commercial private and public clouds. During this talk, I will present the current state of the OpenStack ecosystem and the software stack used for each layer: Compute (Nova), Network (Neutron/OVN), and Storage (Cinder/Ceph). We will discuss how these building blocks create a sovereign cloud alternative and how to easily start your own lab for further experimentation. 20.
